2007 Annual Meeting Highlights

148 milling members, associate members and invited guests of NAMA attended the Annual Meeting held at The Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia. Many members and guests said it was the “best ever.” Following are the highlights of the meeting:
  • NAMA Board members Breck Barton, Cereal Food Processors, Inc.; Lynn Rundle, 21st Century Processing Company; and Stephen H. Wickes, Agricor, Inc., were elected to the Executive Committee. Their term is 2007-2010.

    They join current Executive Committee members: NAMA Chairman Rick L. Schwein, Grain Millers, Inc.; NAMA Vice Chairman John C. Miller, Miller Milling Company; Mark Kolkhorst, ADM Milling Company; Paul Maass, ConAgra Mills; Donald L. Mennel, Mennel Milling Company; and Guy R. Shoemaker, Horizon Milling, LLC/Cargill.

  • Thomas L. Manuel, retired from ConAgra Foods; Dr. C.S. (Sam) Rao, retired from ConAgra Foods; and Winston R. Wallin, retired from The Pillsbury Company, were elected Honorary Members.

Recognized for their service and leadership: Vance Taylor, North Dakota Mill & Elevator; Fred Luckey, Bunge Milling, Inc.; Roger F. Mortenson, House-Autry Mills, Inc.; and Craig A. Fischer.
  • The following outgoing Executive Committee members who served a three year term, 2006-2009, were recognized for their service and leadership:

    • Fred Luckey, Bunge Milling, Inc.
    • Roger Mortenson, House-Autry Mills, Inc.
    • Vance Taylor, North Dakota Mill and Elevator

  • Craig Fischer, ADM Milling Company, who is retiring from ADM Milling Company, was recognized for his service and leadership on the Executive Committee.
  • The following staff members were appointed as non-elected officers of the association: Betsy Faga, President; James A. Bair, Vice President; and Terri Long, Secretary and Treasurer.

  • The FY 2008 budget was approved.

  • The 2007 Annual Report was distributed.

  • Committee reports were presented.

  • The Associate Members elected Monte White, Research Products, Inc., as the chairman of the Associate Member committee.

  • The Corn Division, Oat Division, and wheat millers held individual sessions to discuss issues specifically related to their operations.

NAMA's Associate members were recognized for sponsoring a sit-down dinner in The Mansion’s ballroom and a ghost/history tour of Savannah following dinner.
