DeMarchi Promoted to Director of Government Relations North American Millers' AssociationOctober 31, 2005
Washington, D.C. – October 31, 2005 – Betsy Faga, president of the North American Millers’ Association (NAMA), announced that Jane B. DeMarchi has been promoted to Director of Government Relations. Ms. DeMarchi joined the NAMA staff in March 2004 as Coordinator of Technical and Export Programs. “Jane has very quickly demonstrated her grasp of industry issues. This promotion reflects the level of responsibility she has assumed for a broad spectrum of NAMA issues.”
Ms. DeMarchi has responsibility for issues of the Technical Committee including mycotoxins and microbiologics, allergens, research, security, and good manufacturing practices. She is also actively engaged with the International Trade Committee that deals with NAMA’s participation in the U.S. government’s food assistance programs.
Ms. DeMarchi received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Asian Studies from Dartmouth College. She began her career with the Ohio Department of Development as international business liaison with responsibility for attracting Japanese, European and Canadian foreign investment projects to Ohio. She then became director of the Department’s office and programs in Hong Kong assisting Ohio companies in exporting products to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia. She served in the Commercial Service Section of the Consulate General of the US in Shanghai, China before moving to the Washington, DC area.
