NAMA, strategically located in our nation’s capitol, ensures its members a seat at the table when it comes to federal legislative and regulatory policy impacting the milling industry. NAMA provides both the clout and the platform for individual milling companies to regularly interact with members of Congress and government officials – from face-to-face meetings to submitting written comments, giving testimony at hearings, working as part of industry coalitions, and a host of other proactive strategies – ensuring our industry’s views and input are front and center with key decision makers.

The North American Millers’ Association (NAMA) represents millers of wheat, corn, oats and rye in the US and Canada. Our members take the raw grain and, through grinding and crushing, create flour and other products that are used to make such favorite foods as bread, pasta, cookies, cakes, and snack foods.
Associate members provide products and/or services to the milling companies. These include milling machinery and systems, packaging materials, cargo transportation, vitamin and mineral additives, fumigants and other pesticides, financial services and seed wheat, corn and oats.
We represent the milling industry with the federal government and Congress. One of our primary goals is to ensure that our nation has a plentiful supply of top quality grains, produced in the most efficient, sustainable and safest way possible.
NAMA also plays a vital role in delivering nutrition to American consumers, as well as providing nutritious grain-based products to help feed those around the world. Foods made from the flour, meal and oats milled by NAMA members are important components of a healthy diet. Complex carbohydrates in grain-based foods provide essential fuel for the body while both whole and enriched grains are good sources of key nutrients, vitamins and fiber which can help prevent disease.
We’re proud to be the indispensable link between the raw grain and the healthy, good-for-you products that have sustained and enriched people’s lives for centuries.
