MCCARTHY ATTENDS RECEPTION AT EMBASSY OF IRELAND

Last week, NAMA President and CEO Jim McCarthy attended a reception at the Embassy of Ireland celebrating the Agriculture Minister of Ireland, Simon Coveney, T.D. The reception was an opportunity for the Embassy to introduce Coveney to the American agriculture and food industry representatives in Washington, D.C. While at the reception, McCarthy had the opportunity to speak with the Ambassador of Ireland, Anne Anderson.

TAIWAN MILLERS TEAM TO GET SEED-TO-SHIP LOOK AT U.S. WHEAT INDUSTRY
U.S. Wheat Associates, By Steve Mercer, July 1, 2014

Flour millers in Taiwan have relied for many years on U.S. farmers to supply most of the wheat they import. Competition exists, however, and U.S. Wheat Associates (USW) knows that it is important to keep the Taiwan milling industry informed about the quality and value of U.S. wheat. That is why USW is bringing four milling executives to the United States July 6 to 15, 2014, with assistance from the North Dakota Wheat Commission, Nebraska Wheat Board, Oregon Wheat Commission and California Wheat Commission. The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service also provided funding for this trade team event.

DYE, STOUFER INTRODUCE ARDENT TO I.F.T. AUDIENCE

Dan Dye, chief executive officer, and Bill Stoufer, chief operating officer and chief integration officer, of Denver-based Ardent Mills, took time at the I.F.T. 14 Annual Meeting + Food Expo in New Orleans to talk about the company’s new vision for serving the grain-based foods industry. “Bringing the companies together enables us to do more for our customers than we could on our own,” Mr. Dye said. With the company’s creation less than a month ago, Mr. Dye and Mr. Stoufer noted that I.F.T. represents an excellent opportunity for the newly formed Ardent to talk to an audience of food designers and key decisions makers.
